River of Life Church House of Restoration is a unique model that has endured turbulent transition of two former ministries whose lead pastor's have went home to be with the Lord. Pastor Major Terry, a spiritual son of the late great Elder Robert Holman Sr., received the blessing of Elder Holman to plant a church in the Yuba City, Sutter County. A suburb of Sacramento 45 minutes Northwest of Sacramento. Pastor Terry started the church in 1976 with just his family and a few Saints, the ministry blossomed to well over 100 congregants by the early 80's. The church was a thriving viable sanctuary for the military personnel stationed at Beal Air force Base. Pastor Terry was known throughout the Yuba City Sutter County for his fiery preaching style and his prowess in financial investments & land acquisitions.

Greater Glory Deliverance Center, located in Del Paseo Heights, was lead by Pastor Rickey Tates. Pastor Tates was a tall, faithful dedicated man of God who loved God's people. He built the membership of a fellowship known as, Labor of Love C.O.G.I.C, who had just a few families in attendance. Later, through evangelizing the community and doing sponsored programming and outreach, he increased the attendance to the point that they outgrew the building they worshipped in. Through much prayer and hard work, Pastor Tates build a new facility across the street from Grant High School and they named it, Greater Glory Deliverance Center.

After Bishop Edwards mother's transition from earth to glory in November of 2013, Bishop A.L. Willis, who had assumed the Pastoral duties of Greater Glory Deliverance Center, because of the untimely death of his Bro-In-Law, Pastor Rickey Tates, asked Bishop Clifton Edwards Jr. to apply for the pastoral vacancy. He did apply and the church voted him in unanimously. However, in May of 2014, the bank deemed the ministry insolvent due to the unexpected death of Pastor Tates, the church was in a financial hardship and the bank had no other recourse but to sale the building to another ministry. No doubt, saddened by the news, the saints were still grieving over the death of their former leader and now must vacate the building as well. Bishop Edwards encouraged himself and the Saints in the Lord, all along believing God had something greater in store. After a few months had past, Bishop Edwards learned of the Pastoral Vacancy in Yuba City CA, he applied and after much prayer and consideration, Christ Temple Community Church of Yuba City voted him in as Pastor.

The journey has been grievous and burdensome. Trying to build and grow where there has been grief and woe is an arduous task at best. Not to mention keeping a few members from the Del Paseo Heights church, who commutes to Yuba City every week. They are to be commended and also the faithful few who makes ministry possible in Yuba City. They are to be commended as well. Because of the change in demography and multiple church splits at the Yuba City fellowship. The saints, after much consideration and prayer, thought it best to move and relocate to Sacramento CA in order to combine both churches and reposition the ministry for exponential growth in a thriving community.

Bishop Clifton Edwards Jr. in 1991, planted his first church, Antelope Valley Christian Outreach which later became, City of Zion International Ministries of Lancaster CA. Clifton Edwards Jr. is the son of Bishop Emeritus Clifton Edwards Sr. who founded and pastored the Gospel of Christ Apostolic Church in Los Angeles CA. Pastor Edwards was faithful to his fathers ministry for over 20 years. He was a gifted musician, composer and song writer. He was brought to national acclaimed through the late great Mattie Moss Clark, who recorded several hit songs such as; "I Don't Want To Be Lost" 1985 / "Shine On" 1986 / "By Faith" 1987. Bishop Edwards wrote a song performed by, Men of Standard & Kirk Franklin entitled; "Latter Rain" 2009. His latest musical offering can be found on  the Spotify App & C.DBaby.com; Preachers Music Group. He has also Authored a book entitled; "Jealousy Is Crueler Than The Grave"/ Exlibris Publisher.

Bishop Edwards has been married to Tracie Edwards who is a wonderful wife and partner in ministry. He has two amazing children. Lamar (Mars) Edwards, who is a Music Producer for secular Artist such as, Faith Evans, T.I., The Game, Snoop Dogg, Usher and Jay Z too name a few. His daughter Jasmine Edwards is an ORU Graduate, worked at The Potters House, T.D. Jakes Ministries and later worked directly for Sheryl Brady Ministries.
