Ministry Portfolio Time Line
Clifton Edwards Jr.
I was born in July of 1962 the last of three siblings to Clifton and Frances Edwards Sr. In the fall of 1968 our family came to know the Lord Jesus. My mother was filled with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gave the utterance. She was the spiritual rock of our family. Soon we all embrace the baptism of the Holy Spirit and were all in ministry under the most reverend Dr. Charles Queen of Los Angeles CA., (who is now a retired pastor and a Greek Professor at a seminary in Los Angeles CA).Our family was endued with special ministry gifts and we were all called into ministry and served in the Lords church. I was Filled with the Spirit in August of 1971. Shortly after my baptism, I prayed to God as a child and said; Whatever you want me to do I am willing. The Lord responded and gave me the gift of music and arts. I began to play the piano, drums and organ without any formal training. My Father accepted his call into the pastorate 2 years after our family was saved and from 9 years old until 29, I served him in every capacity. I was the janitor at the church as well as serving in a plethora of capacities in ministry. Here are a few hats I wore at my fathers church. I served as an usher, youth leader, musician, altar worker, evangelistic team, discipleship ministry, missions, choir director, minister of music, brotherhood president, youth president, Sunday school teacher, Vacation Bible school Teacher and Assistant Pastor.
I served my father from 1971-1991 He then sent me out as a spiritual son and an extension of his ministry to pastor in the Antelope Valley. August 1991 I started and founded the Antelope Valley Christian Outreach Church of Lancaster CA. We were very zealous for God. We started the Touch The World Crusade. A ministry endeavor that fed and clothed the greater community at large during our annual convocation. We also started a male mentoring ministry called Man to Man. A vision of mine which targeted young black males ages 15-21. Our focus was prevention of young men being incarcerated in our community. We also help start a ecumenical minister alliance called, Kingdom Builders United We Stand. Through this united effort with fellow clergyman in the city, we were able to host Lancasters first Community Day in Lancaster City Park. We fed over ten thousand people in one day. We also offered job training, clothe give away, job interview coaching, music and entertainment. In 1993, we purchased Central Christian Church and we started our Academy Of Excellence Private Christian School. My wife Tracie Edwards served as the school administrator. We offered before and after school care and educated Pre-K through 5th Grade. We soon went on the local cable net work, Warner Cable T.V. Our broadcast was viewed by thousands all over the Valley. I recorded two live recordings while pastoring in Lancaster CA. The ï¬rst being, The Zion Project which featured the Touch The World Crusade Singers and the last project I produced was the Preachers Music Groupâ€. You can Google Clifton Edwards Jr and The Zion Project and down load the album for free. You can go to CD baby.com and type in PMG Live and you can purchase the record. I have been writing Gospel music for over thirty years. I was brought to national acclaim by the late great Mattie Moss Clark mother of the world renown Clark Sisters. I have worked with legends such as D.J Rogers, Rev. James Cleveland, Warren Cambell, Calvin Rhone, Men Of Standard, Commissioned Rance Allen and Vickie Winans to name a few.
In 1997 I joined the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship under the direction of Presiding Bishop Paul Morton. during my tenure in this fellowship, I was elevated to an Overseer of the Antelope Valley region. I was called upon to work in various capacities such as, hosting convocations and rallys, working on a state level to recruit new pastors into the fellowship and when requested, speaking at the fellowship meetings as the keynote homily. In 2003, with the help of God and a conclave of pastors, I started the Anointed Progressive Ministries of Excellence, Better known as A.P.E.X Ministries. As I embarked upon the call and responsibility to lead and help other ministry leaders, the honorable, chief apostle, His Grace Anthony Lynn Willis, saw the office of the Bishopric on my life, for my work in the presbytery and in the community of clerics. In 2005, I was consecrated a primate Bishop in The Lords church. Before my consecration, I attended the Joint College of African American Bishops, in Cleveland Ohio. There I was trained in the episcopacy by the metropolitan, Arch Bishop Delano Ellis. Over the last ten years, I have been hosting leadership conferences for ministry leaders. Our conferences are highly acclaimed by clerics locally and abroad. We offer personalized classes for adjutants, administrators, music pastors and evangelism training. Being gifted is often a blessing and a curse. The down side of being involved in the multiplicity of ministry is finding time for family and rest. Having said that, I would like to believe my greatest achievements have been rising two beautiful kids. They are grown and gone but impacting the world in their own way. My son, Lamar Edwards, is a musician of extraordinary talents. He has transitioned from the church right into hip hop, r&b, movie sound tracks and award show presentations for television. Some of his production credits include, T.I (rapper) Faith Evans, Mya, B.O.B, David Banner, Snoop Dogg, P.Diddy, and a plethora of entertainment personalities. He is one of the most sought after producer of his generation. My daughter Jasmine, is in Dallas,TX working closely with, Cheryl Brady @ The Potters House North, under T.D.Jakes ministries. She is a graduate of Oral Roberts University in Tulsa,OK. My wife, who is a consummate partner in ministry is equally talented in the ministry of helps. She is founder of Ladies 1st Ministries. A labor of love emanating from her heart for pastors wives who often carry the burden of ministry along with their husbands but are often obscured from the public eye while working behind the scenes. Their labor of love goes unnoticed, so for this reason Lady Edwards has design a conference that is intimately designed to be a safe place for women who lead with their husbands but often bleed behind closed doors.
I recently authored and published my 1st book entitled, Jealousy Is Crueler Than The Grave Oct 2013 released, Xlibris Publisher, amazon.com or barnesandnobles.com
I was recently installed as pastor of Christ Temple Community Church of Yuba City CA . In July 2015, I started my church consultant company called, Ekklesia Ministry Solutions, a ministry tool designed for tough cases such as, when pastors divorce, how to deal with rebellion of leadership, when pastors die how to seek the right fit, church growth and Vision casting.
Lastly I will upload a cornucopia of pictures to support these claims however my early years of ministry and tenure with my father, those pictures are not in my possession unfortunately but I will also give names and numbers of references that can conï¬rm my labor of love to the saints.
Thanks again for your consideration. God bless.
